FIDH has made a video clip for International Women’s Day, March 8th, to illustrate the scale, strength and diversity of recent and current reactions to attacks on women’s rights: Fighting back for women’s rights.
In many countries, women’s rights have been the subject of attacks during the past year by reactionary or religious movements. In response, mobilisation has grown bigger and stronger in many countries such as Iceland, The Netherlands, Pakistan, India, Poland, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay.
Perfectly in line with the theme of the 39th Congress held in South Africa in 2016, the video presents very moving pictures of these reactions, to music sung by the Grammy award winning artist Angelique Kidj
